Cancellation Policy After an order has been placed, due to all JUNI items being "made to order" items, it may not be cancelled or changed after 3 working days of the payment being made. However, you may return your order once it has been received - subject to our returns policy of each item. We have the right to cancel your order if there is insufficient stock of what you ordered. If this occurs we will email you and issue a refund of the amount deducted by us. This will be received within 7 working days. MOISSANITE Moissanites and why JUNI uses them... What is a Moissanite? Moissanites were first discovered by Henri Moissan in 1893 in a meteorite, in Arizona, that fell to the earth. At first, he believed he had found diamonds but later discovered the gemstones were composed of silicon carbide. ​ So are Moissanites naturally created? Natural Moissanites are incredible rare and therefore the Moissanites you see today are created in the laboratory, making them ethically desirable. ​ Here at JUNI we use the highest quality of Moissanites from Charles & Colvard®; specifically Moissanite Forever One™ by Charles & Colvard®. Moissanites are created to appear very similar to diamonds however they hold many of their own characteristics . To the naked eye, the most visible differences between moissanites and diamonds are the fire (dispersion) and sparkle. Moissanites are reco gnised as being th e m ost brilliant (shiniest) gemstone on earth. Furthermore, Moissanite can disperse more light than a diamond and reflects a rainbow of colo u rs when light passes through the gemstone. ​ The next factor to consider is its "hardness". It is well known that the diamond is the hardest element on earth, however, Moisannites are also extremely hard that commonly measure 9.25 - 9.5 on the Mohs scale. ​ Moissanite or Diamond? For all of JUNI's engagement designs, we use the Forever One™ by Charles & Colvard® Colourless Moissanites (DEF) which falls within a clarity of internally flawless. Moissanite grading uses a color grading scale that is based upon the GIA diamond color grading scale. Here at JUNI we use Chatham Lab Grown Gemstones, a company recognised as being one of the leading companies of laboratory-grown gemstones. All Chatham lab grown gemstones possess the same physical, optical and chemical structure as their mined counterpart. Chatham gemstones have the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as mined gems do. Lab Grown Gemstones are made by controlling the environment so that crystals can grow naturally, therefore recreating the conditions in which gems grow in the earth. ​ One of the main benefits of using lab grown gemstones is that they have considerably less of an impact on the environment than mined gems. ​ The beauty of Chatham Lab Grown Gemstones is that unless you’re a certified gemologist with a powerful microscope, you won’t be able to tell the difference between Chatham Lab Grown Gemstones and mined gemstones.
